XCMG tunnel boring machine working in Tibet

At 4300m height of sea level, one big hydro project is in construction. China government invest 4.6 billion in this project, it will provide enough water or agricultural production for 4 cities in Tibet after it’s finished.
They will build 3 big tunnels of total length 13.6km, width 7m, and height 7m. If by traditional blasting construction work, it can drill 3m everyday at most. But now workers use XCMG drilling machine model XTR5, XTR4, and now the speed is 6m every day, it will save more than 1000 days work time.
XCMG tunnel boring machine show its good performance in high altitude area of very cold environmental, maybe in future, tunnel boring will take the place of blasting construction.
